[08-16-2000] shebear : Here's one for the versatile expert. What are the current remedies for a case of poison oak, ivy or sumac? And how effective are they?
TIA

[08-16-2000] saintly : Some of the top-rated cures are:
- Topical treatment: Zanfel has been reported to have amazing results.
- Aloe Vera + Jewelweed: 1 part clean water, 1 part aloe stems/juice, 2 parts Jewelweed stems & leaves blended. (Makes a topical application that can be sprayed on)
- Dilute chlorinated water (1 tsp chlorine bleach : 1 cup of water, or 3 cups chlorine in a full bath)
- The pill 'Oral Ivy'
(Lots of intermittent water applications should go with any cure)
The best site I found is

With tons of information on products, recommendations, reader's evaluations of cures, and more than you ever wanted to know about the subject. :)
Hope that helps! Do you have more questions on the subject, or was that not what you were looking for?
